First DESIRE Newsletter issued |

 The first version of the DESIRE newsletter has been issued.
The first issue contains a summary of what the DESIRE Project is doing, and the main desertification issues in the DESIRE study sites. The next Newsletter will move on to the strategies that have been chosen to combat desertification in each study site. Publicity > Newsletters.

Fragile arid and semi-arid ecosystems are in urgent need of integrated
conservation approaches that can prevent and reduce widespread degradation.
The DESIRE Outlook address list has been updated on May 18th 2009. A distribution list of PhD students has been added. The zipped .PST and excel files can be downloaded from 
A number of Turkish TV broadcasts about the DESIRE project have been posted on the DESIRE website. With this new feature it becomes possible to watch video's from within the DESIRE website.
