UNCCD Seminar on Water, Desertification and Sustainable Land Management |

 © Benno Neeleman - UNCCD 2009 photo contest The UNCCD secretariat will hold a half a day seminar titled, “Sustainable Land Management Secures Drylands Water Quality,” at the 2010 Stockholm International Water Week scheduled for 5-11 September 2010, in Stockholm, Sweden.
Participants will explore two dynamics. First, the linkages between drylands land degradation and environmental crises, specifically water scarcity, large-scale migrations and political instability. And second, the prospects for sustainable land management to combat desertification and enhance water resource availability, accessibility and quality, and sustainable livelihoods.
